The best cover up for your "wow" beach look
To go with your sexy new Kelly B One Piece, you're going to need a sexy new cover up. Let's face it -- those flowing caftans that look so perfect in magazines are a bit too precious in real life. What we all need is a sarong, and these Kikoys are some of the most beautiful, vivid and unique sarongs I've seen.
The Kikoy (Kikoi) is a traditional African wrap -- these are machine woven, then hand knotted by women in Kenya. At first I thought the site was way too slick for this to not be some European rip-off or import. But the company seems to be founded by a Kenyan and trying specifically to employ local women in a way that will help their circumstances. You can read more about the company on the Kikoy Women's Group website and in this article in the International Herald Tribune (last page.)
Diani Forest Green Kikoy $50. In addition to being the perfect beach wrap, I imagine these would make great picnic blankets, impromptu rain covers and, in desperation, decent napkins.
